Game mode
In solo mode, you can equip NFT sneakers to earn GST (Green Satoshi Token) and move for 5 minutes each time you consume energy. When you select sneakers and press the "Start" button, a "Walking" or "Running" sign will appear at the top of the display. During moonwalking (when there is no GPS or web connection, moving using an electric bicycle, dog, etc.), GST will not be rewarded and energy will be consumed depending on the situation. GPS signal is represented by either white (no GPS), red (GPS shaking), or green (GPS solid). To ensure profits, it is necessary to ensure that you have enough energy before relocation. Otherwise, tokens will not be awarded.
The amount of GST/GMT paid depends on the number of minutes spent and varies depending on four main aspects: sneaker type (different styles have different GST), sneaker efficiency (higher ability means more GST/GMT per minute), comfort (higher convenience means more GMT per minute), and HP loss (more comfort means slower). Once you reach level 4, you will be able to alternate between paying GST and GMT.
To maximize your income in Solo mode, you need to stay within the optimal speed range for each sneaker. Going too fast or too slow can cause you to lose up to 90% of your income. When your energy runs out, you will stop earning tokens and you can exit Solo mode by holding the stop button.
ミステリーボックス
Mystery Boxes will randomly drop during your travels in Solo mode. Each Mystery Box contains Gems (Level 1-4) and GST, and each user has 4 Mystery Box slots. When you receive a Mystery Box, there will be a countdown to open it, and the amount of GST required to open it will depend on the quality of the box. The higher the quality, the longer the countdown.
sneakers
In Solo mode, Efficiency affects the amount of GST earned per energy spent, while Luck determines the frequency and quality of Mystery Box drops. Comfort affects the rate of HP decay and the amount of GMT earned. In Marathon mode, Efficiency affects the number of Leaderboard Points earned, while Luck affects Mystery Box drops. Staking/Governance (in development) also affects Comfort over the amount of GMT earned.
If the HP is not at 100%, the shoes will not be allowed to be sold in the marketplace or moved, and if the HP is below 20%, the shoes will not be treated as a power source in the area. When the HP finally reaches 0, the shoes will no longer be usable for movement.
The more expensive the top-tier sneakers, the more expensive the repairs will be. Durability works similarly to the sneaker's durability. The more you exercise, the more your sneakers will degrade to a point where they are durable. When a sneaker's durability is reduced to half, it will incur a penalty called "wear and tear". When the durability is at 50/100, the sneaker's efficiency plummets to 90%. When the recovery drops to 20/100, the efficiency drops to 10%. In Marathon mode, sneakers will earn points for the longer they stay above the "wear and tear" penalty mark.
Sneaker type
There are four types of sneakers, each designed for a different intensity and fitness level.
The GST refund of the user is not stable and fluctuates due to several factors. The lifespan of the sneakers affects the efficacy. Poor GPS signal may lead to loss of funds for the user. There are five factors that characterize the quality of sneakers. When manufacturing sneakers, the quality rating is chosen randomly within a given minimum and maximum range based on the sneaker's specifications. Therefore, sneakers of the same quality have contrasting characteristics.
Sneaker Level
The strengthening of sneakers is accelerated by consuming GST. The consumption of GST and GMT increases with the level and requires a certain period of time. You can also increase the pace of sneaker strengthening by increasing the usage of GST. Currently, shoes require GMT to level up to 5, 10, 20, 29, and 30. Each time you level up, you will receive 4 to 12 attribute points depending on the level of the shoe. Also, there are benefits for each level. At the highest level, you can choose between GST and GMT. You can alternate between GST and GMT, but there will be a waiting period.
Co-branded sneakers
STEPN has released sneakers in collaboration with top sneaker brands.
Genesis Sneakers
Genesis Sneakers in Solana range from Sneaker G1 to G10,000.
Genesis Sneakers on BNBChain range from Sneaker G10,001 to G20,000.
All Genesis Sneakers will have a “G” mark for identification. Genesis Sneakers are different from OG Sneakers, they are short numbered sneakers that are airdropped to Genesis Sneaker holders from time to time. OG Sneakers do not have a “G” mark and do not have Genesis Sneaker Perks. For example, BNBChain’s OG sneakers are sneakers with numbers between 20,001 and 30,000. Ape Realm’s OG sneakers are sneakers with numbers between 40,001 and 60,000.
Shoe Mint
The Shoe Mint Event (SME) allows users to "breed" two pairs of sneakers they own as blueprints, producing shoeboxes in the process. For reference, the two sneakers are called "Vintages (parents)." To start an SME, both Vintages must be in the user's possession (not leased) and in perfect durability.
Users simply select their sneakers in the Mint tab, choose the sneakers they want to "Breed," press "Mint" to proceed, and the shoebox will arrive instantly, ready to be unpacked.
Users can SME a sneaker up to 1 times. The more sneakers SME'd, the higher the GST/GMT. Shoe-Minting cost for each Vintage is calculated separately and added together for the final Minting cost. Shoe-Minting has a 7 hour cooldown for both Vintages.
Dynamic Minting Cost
Mint Cost = GST (A) + Base GMT (B) + Additional GMT ([A+B]*x)
- If GST < $4, then x = 0%.
- $4
- If $8 < GST < $12, then x is 100%.
- $12
- $16
- If $20 < GST < $30, then x is 800%.
- If $30 < GST < $40, then x is 1600%.
- $40
- 9. If GST is more than $50, then x is 6400%.
Note: Shoe-Minting costs are updated daily at 14:00 UTC. In extreme cases, we may adjust Shoe-Minting costs multiple times in a day. The cost of the first two Shoe-Mintings is the same. Shoe-Minting has a chance to drop one extra Shoebox. The more mints you have, the higher the chance of dropping multiple Shoeboxes.
The cost of Shoe-Minting is subject to change from time to time to balance the demand and supply of both GST and GMT.
Gem types and levels
When sneakers reach a certain level, gem sockets will be unlocked, and you can enhance the sneakers' attributes by equipping them with corresponding gems in the unlocked sockets (efficiency gems can only be equipped in efficiency sockets).
There are four types of gems, each of which represents an attribute.
Yellow Yellow: Efficiency
Blue Luck
Red Comfort
Purple Healing Ability
Go to the Upgrade tab in the Gems section and combine 3 gems of the same level and type using GST to upgrade them to a higher level gem (e.g. 1 level 3 efficiency gems to 2 level 1 efficiency gem). Also, upgrading gems beyond level 4 requires GMT.
Socket type and quality
Sneakers have four types of sockets, identified by colors according to the type of gem. Users can improve the attributes of their sneakers by inserting gems into these sockets. One socket is unlocked when sneakers reach levels 4, 5, 10, and 15. The higher the quality of the socket, the more enhanced the attributes of the gem inserted. The type of socket can be seen without unlocking it, but the quality of the socket is determined by the quality of the sneakers.
